Why we built a low-cost app for agriturismi
Updated 12 October 2026
In short. Fattore was born inside Ca' del Ciuco, the agriturismo on the Reggio hills where we work every day. We built it because the tools for big properties are expensive and complicated, and for everything else there was the accounts notebook. We wanted something simple, made for people who do this job, at a price a small property can afford.
We're not a software company that one day decided to get into tourism. We started from the other side: from the reception, the kitchen, the rooms to make up. And from a question we asked ourselves every evening.
The ten-o'clock question
Why, every evening after serving, do we end up doing the accounts in a notebook? The bookings were already handled by the booking system. But everything else (the consumption, the next day's cleaning, the shifts, the registrations to send, the tourist tax) stayed scattered across slips, memory and goodwill.
What was on the market
- Powerful software, built for big hotels: full of features, costly, learned with a course.
- The booking system, which does its job very well but stops there.
- For everything else: the notebook, the spreadsheet, memory.
A small property faced an awkward choice: pay a lot for features it doesn't need, or carry on with slips.
What we wanted, and why low-cost
- Simple: usable by the owner and by whoever lends a hand, without a course.
- Made for this job: orders, room bills, cleaning, shifts, registrations, tourist tax. The everyday things.
- Low-cost: because a property with few rooms can't spend like a hotel. Price per property, not per person using it.
- Honest: it doesn't replace the booking system and doesn't bring guests. It sits alongside and keeps the rest in order.
Made by people who use it
We use Fattore ourselves, every day, at Ca' del Ciuco. When something doesn't work we notice at once, because we're using it while serving breakfast. That's why the features look like real work, not a theoretical scheme. Our story is on the About us page.
And what it does, in practice
Fattore keeps in one place the things that used to be in the notebook: room bills, orders, cleaning, takings, shifts, guest guide, online check-in with Alloggiati Web registrations, ISTAT file, tourist tax register. It sits alongside the booking system, from which it reads arrivals. Details in the modules.
Frequently asked questions
Does Fattore replace the booking system?
No. The booking system (or channel manager) still sells the rooms. Fattore sits alongside and keeps the rest of the day in order.
Why born in an agriturismo and not a tech company?
Because we wanted to solve a problem we lived every evening. The technical build came after the trade, not before.
How much does it cost?
The price is per property, not per person, with a free plan and paid plans built for small properties. The up-to-date details are on the site.
